The Indie Book Show is an energetic, thought provoking and entertaining TV Web Series that turns its back on coffee table deliberation. The world of books is presented through an urban window in order to engage a global audience.
The Indie Book Show presents the African Litrapreuner competition.
The Indie Book Show in conjunction with PEN Sierra Leone developed a X factor style creative writing competition for young adults in West Africa. The competition was made available to 40 schools across the country to young adults aged between 11 -18 years old.
Our 5 awesome judges included Winston Forde, Anni Domingo, Patrice Naimbana and Tracy Nasca selected the best 12 stories. However the Ebola crisis hampered our progress. We decided we would no longer offer a publishing contract to the winner because of the immediate crisis in the country. We felt it was better to offer cash prizes to assist children and their families during hard times. #voteforhope.
We want to inspire, encourage and acknowledge creativity in young people by promoting the prospect of independent, entrepreneurial writing opportunities in different communities.
